Blabbermouth.net reports: Marilyn Manson's ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood has told E! Online that the shock rocker and his bassist Twiggy Ramirez were asked by Barack Obama's camp to perform in support of the campaign. "I advised them not to do it," Wood said Sunday night in L.A. at the Behind the Camera Awards, presented by Hamilton and Hollywood Life magazine. "I said, 'If you show up there, it's not going to be good. It's going to bring a lot of controversy, which I know you love, but Obama doesn't need it right now.' . . . [However] now that Obama's been officially elected, I might call Manson and say, 'Just go! Just go to the inauguration!' "
An Obama spokesperson quickly shot down Wood's claim, telling E! Online in an email, "That is not true."
