This is something that my guitar teacher showed me a couple weeks back. It uses the method of sweep picking. Sweep picking is basically just strumming the notes of the guitar.
Instead of actually picking the notes, you just basically strum the strings.
Make shure that you do not hold your fingers in the chord position, what you should do is just put your finger on the frets as you strum that string. This way it sound a lot better.
This is a really good exercise for building up speed ad learning to solo.
