CP stands for Community Points. You get points for participating in the site, like submitting tabs, lessons and reviews, rating tabs, posting messages into forums, etc. Amount of points vary:
10 from tabs 10 from reviews and lessons 5 from lyrics 1-5 points from forum posts
When you reach 1,001 points your account will be upgraded to Premium. This means you get access to premium forum and several other neat things.
Forum ranks
Forum ranks are based on the amount of posts you have written (ie, they have nothing to do with CPs). Ranks are as follows:
1-20 Amateur 21-50 Groupie 51-100 Roadie 101-500 Player 501-1000 Artist 1001-2500 Rockstar 2501-5000 Virtuoso 5001-10000 Genius 10000+ - Find out
This is shown in forum on posts you write.
Submitting tabs & lyrics
Simply find the band in the A-Z menu (or use band search) and select 'Tabs & Lyrics' from the 'Submit' drop-down.
Read the guidelines on the submisson page before submitting. Submissions that do not follow guidelines get deleted. Please note that we review each submission manually before it's added, it can take anywhere between 1 and 48 hours for your tab to become visible.
Submitting copyrighted material will get your account instantly suspended.
Note: Even though we can't show tabs at the moment, you can still submit them and receive CPs from your submissions.
Adding an image/link/etc to your signature/profile page
Links, images and such can be added to your forum signature, and your profile page using the BBCode. See the BBCode help page for more instructions.
Note that the image, file or whatever on the code MUST be accessible in the internet (ie, www), it can't be on your local home/work pc hard disk. Otherwise only you will see it.
Maximum height for an image in your signature is 200 pixels. Images larger than this are removed by moderators.
Can I become a moderator ?
The most common question asked. Yes, basically anyone could be a mod. When new moderators are needed, this will be announced in the Announcements forum. From the list of candidates, new mod(s) are chosen by a closed vote.
Please DO NOT ask if you could be a mod, if there is no thread currently active in the announcement forums stating there is need for new mods. It is simply very annoying getting messages from 10+n people a day asking if they could be mods. Thank you.
How do I post tabs for bands that aren't in the archive ?
Please private message either me or one of the moderators, we will add the band to the archive.
Can you make a tab for song x by band y / know where to find it ?
No. Please request tabs in the "Tab request" -forum. I don't have the time to tab songs or try to find tabs.
In the trusty little "Update profile" window, you'll see a text box for Forum Avatars. What you do is you type/ copy/paste your avatar's URL into it, and continue on your jolly way down to the button saying you want to update your profile.
Now, one more thing, make sure it's the right size, and not that huge Cobain pic.
_____________ It's not that life's too short it's that your frost spire is.
Browse the archive for the band (or use the search) your tab/lyric is for. When you find it, click the "Submit tabs & lyrics" in the top navigation. Alternatively, simply click "Submit tabs" in Members area and search for the band.
