Hey everyone, this is actually my first post here, but anway, I joined because I was fed up with all the hate for MCR and similar bands constantly bombarding me.
The other day I was browsing the net and happened to come across http://killemo.net. I'm tired of all the misrepresentation of people who listen to good music. I already sent him an e-mail with my feelings on his apparent "comedy" and I'd encourage you all to do the same if you feel the same as I do. Apparently this is a pretty popular page so I think something needs to be done. Anyway, what are your feelings on the subject?
Personally I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks. Clearly you do, which is your choice, but whats the point. If you're that insecure about listening to "emo" then either you're only listening to impress someone or you're overly sensitive. If it's the former, then w/e, thats your choice you go about your business. If it's the latter then knock it off because it's just feeding the stupid stereotype that kids who listen to "emo" are overly sensitive and whine about everything.
So basically, grow a pair and ignore it.
EDIT: Not to mention, his site has very good points, backed up by facts/things he's heard and seen, not just his opinion about McR or whatever. It was well writen. I applaud him, and I like a few of the bands he wrote about.
-------------------------------------------------------------- "I've seen some crazy shit..." "Yesterday, an 80 year old librarian broke my penis." "You win."
I completely agree with eric. seriously, emo is so oversaturated these days and I dont want to sound like a hypocrite because some of my favorite bands are on that list but I truly do despise the "emo scene". if you truly do enjoy the music then just listen to it, emailing him to complain and dare I say "whining" about him is just fulfilling the stereotype he's promoting.
---------------------------- Bands worth checking out: cobra starship, forgive durden, gatsbys american dream, the faint, the academy is..., mae
Best part was that he uses a picture of an actual emotional hardcore band in his banner.
Seriously, Still Life is so awesome, they should never be equated to the pop he uses as fodder for an argument on a genre he seems uneducated on. At least his arguments made sense and he brought up good points, even if he did use the wrong term (emo) to describe the bands that he tore into.
i dont really care cause he bases it all on stereo types. You can do the same thing with all races and life styles, he just picked a well known one that is not liked by closed minded assholes
