I've played both, yes. SG has more of a U shaped neck, where as the LP has more of a shallow U (I hope that makes sense...it's used alot to describe the neck so..). I have an Epi LP, so I have to say I like the LP better (BUT I have a Gibby Explorer on lay-away right now), but the SG is relatively comfortable (my good friend has a Epi Goth SG and a girl I know how a Gibson fadded cherry SG and I've used both). I have big hands though, so the U shape doesn't bother me as much (not that you won't get used to it in a few days...hours even.). What's your other guitar?

well right now i have an ibanez gax70 and i did hav a lp jr (epiphone) that i loved and got stupid and traded it for the ibanez cuz it was worth more but i still like my ibanez
Oh. I haven't played an Ibanez, so I dunno what the neck is like, but the LP's neck is more like a Strat neck, by the fact that they are both shallow U's. So if you like the thin neck then the LP would be better.
You can get a LP shaped body with 3 pickups (Black Beauty) and you know, try to get teh place to sell you a Maestro/put one on (I'm not even sure if you can take those off/put them on) the Black Beauty. Then you get the 3 pickups, Meastro, and LP body shape.
Maybe someone who understands Maestro's better can help you out there, cause from what I can tell they're just Tremolo's and some extra metal on the body....hmmmmm

I have a Mexican Strat and plan to change the pickups with the American ones. Will changing the pickups make my Mexican Strat sounds like the American ones? Id appreciate your inputs on this. THX.
