Cool main site idea, is it even possible?

I just thought of a really unique idea that i've never seen a website try... It might not even be possible but I think it would be pretty sweet.

What if on the main page of the site there was an option to change the whole sites color scheme. Just give like 3 or 4 different color scheme options. Almost like skins on media players and stuff, but on a website.

I wanted to do it with my old website but I could never figure out how to make it work right so I gave up. It sounds kind of corny but I think a lot of people would actually use it.

Do you mean like this?

On this site (link), you choose the colour scheme you want the site to appear in by clicking one of the options in the upper left corner, where it says "Choose Your Style".

You mean something like that?

Skins would of course be nice, but would take weeks to code/design and is not our current priority. Right now you just "have" to live with the current version.

Sorry, it's not going to happen right now, if at all.

It's completely possible though, incase you were wondering. I used some website to create my own message boards for about a week, and you could create different skins and each user could pick which one they wanted. However, I can't remember what the site was and I can't be assed to go find it right now.

Not that it really matters much. I think the orange and gray is totally sick and it's just for asthetic reasons. Right now, Endy, his wife, and Pixel Pusher are working their asses off to make the fuctionality of the site more illsicknasty (haha, been hanging with an old friend who moved the past few nights, we used to use that alot...) and at the moment, I'd like to see the store get put up more than new colors.

Sorry if that sounds mean, it wasn't intended that way. Different skins would be very cool to have somewhere down the road, but right now there is so much going on having to do with functionality. Asthetics come last, my friend..

Oh I completely agree, there's much higher things on the priority list right now... I just thought it would be a cool idea to consider down the road.

That terminator site is exactly what i'm talking about, except maybe a little more drastic. All that site changes is the logo bar thing... I would give completely different color schemes to choose from.

before mxtabs went out you could change the color scheme on their site. they had thousands and thousands of tabs. but then they closed because they said that the music companies thought that submitting tabs on the internet interfered with copyright laws. i hope that doesnt happen on this site...
