On another message board I had a question and thought I would share this info on this website.

Does anyone here prefer MOSfet over stand alone Tubes?
Is anyone here familiar with the difference?

Read below, Thanks.

A Response From GenzBenz/TubeWorks on this Subject

"MOS" comes from MOSFET which stands for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor. "VALVE" is an older term for tube.

The name MOSVALVE was used because it descibes that series of circuits the best. The MOSVALVE amps use MOSFET output devices in a circuit topology similiar to what is used with tubes or "Valves".

Your PROVALVE amp however does not use MOSFETs instead it uses actual tubes. I hope this helps and thank you for choosing Tube Works and Genz Benz.
