i couldn't figure out where to put this..anyway

ok this is weird and i don't know how to ask it right, but over the upcoming summer me and some guys plan on either buying a shed or building one. We're gonna fix it up and stuff and kinda turn it into a studio. Somewhere on this site (i can't find it now and it's pissing me off) some body said that bathrooms have good acoustics. I was wondering if someone could explain to me why? The shed we're going to get is fairly large, so we're going to make half of it for just sittin around and hanging out and the other half a place to record, and since we want to sound good we'd like it to have good acoustics. But to do that I'd hafta know what about the bathrooms make them good..so..yea..and then there's the soundproofing but i can figure that ut fairly easily..so i hope that made sence and someone can help me

We'll, here is that post

I'll look up some stuff on good acoustics for you...I know you need little echo, a good insallation is a good way to start to sound proof, and the walls are whats going to matter. Also, the way the ceiling is designed (if its flat, or if it shapes up, etc, will make the sound echo differently) Theres plenty of different things that will in end determine the sounds, go google some stuff, if not...tell me and I will, lol.

That was me who said about the bathroom thing. I'm not sure why. All I know is that you get nice reverb (not too much, not to little) and it's a really open sound.

thanks man, i'm gonna google some info on it tonight. at this point it looks like i'm buying a premade shed, altho i'm not 100% sure on size n stuff. it's an angled roof, but i'm putting a floor on the rafters to use for storage/sleeping. also, do you think it's the tiling that gives it the good reverb?

edit: i've been lookin for info on good acousitcs for recording and how to make a room good for that kinda crap...but it's kinda tough. any info anyone can give is greatly apreciated

I think the tiling might be it. Also curved shapes also give a gound sound. Again I don't know why, but I've always liked it.

ok, so you're saying don't make the room square and use water resistant material

yea wood, but because it's a shed the interior is completely bare. i could do anything with it. i'll prolly put up some wallboard with carpeting and eggcartons or somethin on the inside so sound won't bother the neighbors
