does anyone use this program?

I find it really useful. I use it for recording riffs i want to remember and i even use it in my computer music class at school. It's a relatively simple multitrack recorder. i give it 5 stars.

anyone else here use it?

I use it, only because I'm forced too. I'm a CoolEdit man myself, but one of my band uses Audacity, thus i have it and use that to record that stuff. Its too...simple but complex...for my liking.

Is it computer based software, or is it hardware based?

I use one my multitracks, mostly the 8-track because the 24-track is set up in my basement and isn't easy to move, through a mixer. I do final computer tweaking with Acid Pro...

It's recording software, and a free download

thus the reason a lot of people have it and it being simple

Yeah, I've got Audacity. I've used it to record some guitar tracks, though I've never tried to record a track over an already existing track. For example, I've never tried to record vocals over a guitar track that I've previously recorded. Ok, that probably made no sense but *** it made sense to me. But overall, easy program, easy to use, easy to save and its free, so the overall package isn't bad.

i use it all the time actually. like you i use it to remember riffs but my band did put out a demo with that program so it's really not that bad and the best thing it's FREE!

Its pretty awesome. Theyre on my school issued laptop, and you can make beats from online drum machines and its easy to drag on. It sounds really nice to. Not the best out there, but thats cause its a free download. Wouldnt that be amazing if Reason was?

I have it, and am forced to use it too since that's what my drummer swears by, and what the school has... yeah
