Well, metal eventually. But I don't know the "basics" yet (as far as there are "basics"). Right now I can't even hit the right notes most of the time (as far as I've heard myself). I'm just looking for a way to see if I could learn to sing and if I like it without having to pay for lessons.
I'm generally convinced that one can learn anything if he/she tries.
no milk/dairy no smoking no drinking achohol no drugs and try and cut back on screaming. also stretch your vocal chords alot by doing exersices, the american idol people actually have a pretty good video of exersices, they sell it in media play by the guitars and stuff. also dont try and sound like anyone specific make it your own. also drink lots of warm water or herbal tea. cold drinks are bad for you because they make your vocal chords tense. the hot or warm loosens them up. try and avoid soda at all costs.
I don't really think you need lessons to learn how to sing. It's pretty easy; it should come naturally. Just listen to the tips other people beat me to writing. Oh, and shouldn't this be in the Vocal forum?
