Get a squire, they're cheap and good quality aswell, you can buy them second hand for even cheaper but for $300 then you can probably get a new one.
I recomend a stratocaster.
If you dont know what a squier stratocaster is then you're a noob at playing guitar.

my G&L tribute legacy was a little over 300 bucks, great guitar. G&L is owned by leo fender, so it is very similar to a strat

Go with the Squire Strat. I paid 287 for mine.

try epiphone guitars. me and all my friends have them. i have a SG310, one has a SG400 and another has an SG special 2 it kind of looks like a les paul.

i like cheese and epiphone sg's
