Review Fender DG-8S Nat

I bought this guitar from Guitar Center for $200. I've always wanted to learn the guitar but didnt think I could afford it. A friend of mine bought one first and I couldnt believe he paid that little for it. Took the chance to see if I could learn it or get rid of it without a huge loss.

  Features

Excellent for me the beginner. The tuner is EASY to use but the video is no good. I started taking lessons from an experienced player and almost all the stuff I learned from the video was not quite the correct way. Example was that Fender shows you how to play "Power Chords". Basically had to learn to add a finger to my E chord to make it right etc. Just mixed me up in showing how to play a track at the end of the video.
The guitar plays really well, again for a beginner.

  Playability

My instructor has a Gibson acoustic that sounds great. This one sounds great in his hands too though. Seems to have a little bit of a buzz sometimes until you slow it down.

  Quality

A little buzzing sometimes but GREAT to learn on. Spend the money later once you have learned and want to stick with it.

  Durability

Does not need frequent tuning. I have banged it into the hallway wall a couple of times and seems very durable. It has a really nice finish with no visible blemishes. Nobody believes that I only spent $200 on it.

Great finish, easy to tune and play. It more that lives up to my expectations of having a guitar to learn on. I can see putting more into it later i.e. strings adjustments etc. I am considering another guitar but not to replace this one. I just know that at this point i'm going to stick with it. I highly recommend it!

I bought the package for $209 from a local shop. The shop threw in some other stuff at a discount also, stand and dvd. They also took the time with me to review other guitars and I appreciate that. Then they took this guitar and set it up for me while I waited. Super place....

Beautiful solid top in natural wood. Enclosed tuners.
Good soft sound or as loud as you can play. I played
soft and the salesman rocked on it.

  Playability

At this stage I don't see getting a different guitar for quite a while.

  Quality

I haven't played a ton of other guitars but everyone who hears it is impressed. Too me it has good range and sounded far better than same or lower priced guitars.

  Durability

So far so good, stays in tune well. I've just started playing and it's been perfect for me around the house.

So far the best value for the dollar and the sound will get better with age if my playing improves...

I would definetly buy this again.
