Paid $500 at a local music store from which my brother frequently buys products, so they cut me a break on the price. It was purchased in January.

Strong points include an incredible value for the price: Fishman electronics, Grover tuners, inlays and abalone that arennullt otherwise found on guitars in this price range. While it doesnnullt have the full sound of some Martins Inullve played, it still sounds full and has crisp, but not shrill, highs and an overall balanced sound. The wizard of a guitar tech at the store where I purchased it set it up for me before I picked it up. It plays as well as a Stratocaster ( which is good or bad, depending on your experience with Strats!). For an acoustic, itnulls a pleasure. Weak points: handmade in Korea, not U.S.A., means poor resale price, even pretty as it is. |

As this instrument was set up by a perfectionist of a guitar tech, I can say that it plays as well as any Martin Inullve laid hands upon. I donnullt play flaming leads, so the cutaway is largely unused, but still seems to make nice room for playing barre chords in the upper registers. It is responsive while fingerpicking, but I plan on replacing the DnullAddario strings with Elixers.

Once again, the sound isnnullt as good as a Martin, but still sounds better than the other guitars in this price range, as well as a few pricier guitars. That a guitar at 1/3 the price of a Martin still draws a comparison to one is remarkable. Hmm. Perhaps a Guitar World shootout would make for an interesting article? |

So far this Dean seems stable with its tuning, and feels durable enough to take on gigs. I havennullt used it out live yet, but plan to soon with no reservations. The electronics sound good, but could use more frequencies than bass, mid, treble, bright. |

I played a number of guitars that werennullt Martins simply because I needed money for a car more than a guitar (and a collective gasp goes up from the guitar crowd. Waddaya expect from someone whonulls really a bass player? [Steinberger XL2-DB with active EQ-sweet!!]). For what I had to spend, there were no other guitars that sounded, looked, or played as well as this one. And, to reiterate, a few guitars that were more expensive STILL didnnullt sound/play as well. Dean did a nice job with this one. Hope itnulls as durable as my null75 Kazuo Yairi, which was hand made by Kazuo himself in Japan and now owned by a good friend. |

BEAUTIFUL GUITAR WITH BLUE FLAMED MAPLE TOP, EXCELENT ABALONE INLAY WORK SHOWING 2 PALM TREES, AN OCEAN SCENE AND DOLPHINS,THE INLAY STRETCHES THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE NECK AND IS BUY FAR THE BEST FEATURE OF THIS GUITAR, DEAN 3CH. EQ ELECTRONICS. LACKS THE FULL BODIED UN-PLUGGED SOUND FOUND IN SOME COMPERABLE BRANDS. |

THIS GUITAR LACKS A LITTTLE IN SOUND. OK SOUND UN-PLUGGED(A LITTLE TO FLAT AND SHALLOW SOUNDING FOR MY TASTE) BUT GOOD ELECTRIC SOUND WHEN RAN THROUGH A COMPERABLE ACOUSTIC AMP. IT DOSNT QUITE MATCH UP TO MY TAKAMINE, MARTIN OR TAYLOR....BUT FOR A THIRD OF THE PRICE OF MY TAKAMINE/MARTIN YOU REALLY CANT EXPECT IT TOO. |

THE OVERALL QUALITY IS GOOD. ITS A PRETTY GUITAR, BUT IT DOES LACK SOME OF THE QUALITY THAT IS FOUND IN SOME OTHER BRANDS ETC. MARTIN/TAYLOR/TAKAMINE, BUT AS I SAID BEFORE AT A CONSIDERABLY LOWER PRICE WHICH WOULD BE EXPECTED. |

IVE NEVER REALLY GIGED WITH IT, BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT IT HAS A BIT OF A PROBLEM WITH NECK WARPING. IVE HAD IT ADJUSTED TWICE IN 6 MONTHS. BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT HAS ALL THE MAKINGS OF A GOOD GIGING GUITAR. SEEMS TO STAY IN TUNE EVEN AFTER VISCIOUS PLAYING SESSIONS . ALTHOUGH YOU MAY WANT TO TAKE SOME PERCAUTIONS IF GIGING WITH IT BECAUSE RUGGED TREATMENT WILL DEF. SCREW UP THE FINISH. |

I WOULD NOT RECOMEND YOU BUY THIS GUITAR IF ITS GOING TO BE THE ONLY AXE IN YOUR ARSENAL. WHILE IT IS SEXXY AS HELL TO LOOK AT, AND WHILE ITS BEAUTY MAY BE ENOUGH TO GET YOU LAID......YOU DO STILL NEED TO BE AWARE THAT IT LACKS SOME OF THE FULL BODIED SOUND FOUND IN SIMULAR GUITARS, ETC EPIPHONES/IBANEZ. BUT ULTIMATELY IT COMES DOWN TO WHAT YOU LIKE....SO YOU JUST NEED TO TEST IT OUT BEFORE YA BUY IT!! |
